Getting into a car accident is always a difficult situation, especially here in Dixon, but Toyota has developed an app feature to help Toyota owners like you get through the post-collision process as smoothly as possible. Called Collision Assistance, the feature is available via the Toyota mobile app and gives owners step-by-step instructions.
Available In The Toyota App
“Safety for our customers is paramount. The minutes following an accident can be critical — drivers are often confused and uncertain about what to do. By incorporating Collision Assistance into our owner app, we can offer help when it is needed,” said Steve Basra, Toyota Motor North America, Connected Technologies group vice president.
One of the perks of this new feature is that because it works through the Toyota app, it already comes pre-populated with relevant vehicle information you would want to have on hand when dealing with the aftermath of a collision, such as your car’s VIN number or model year.
After a wreck, Collision Assistance will urge you to move to a safe location and call 911 for emergency help, as well as advise you not to admit fault to anyone. The app will then guide you through the process of documenting the accident, including vehicle damage, and notifying your insurance company so you can get the claims process started right away. It can also help you find a repair shop where you may restore your Toyota back to its prior condition.
While recovering from a collision, it can be difficult to keep your head straight and remember what to do. Thanks to Toyota’s Collision Assistance feature, your problems just got a little easier to handle.
Of course, it’d be even better to avoid getting into an accident in the first place. Visit Ken Nelson Toyota in Dixon, Illinois, to take a look at the latest Toyota cars, trucks, and SUVs — all of which have automatic emergency braking as standard technology.
